HB 219 -- READING ROOM DESIGNATION

SPONSOR:  Salva

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Accounts and Administration by a vote of 7 to 0.

This bill requires the Secretary of State to designate a reading
room located within the Missouri State Archives as the "Alex M.
Petrovic Reading Room."

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2006, FY 2007, and
FY 2008.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that this special designation is in
honor and recognition of former State Representative Alex M.
Petrovic who introduced the bill establishing the Division of
Records Management and Archives Services in the Secretary of
State's office and creating the Missouri State Archives.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Salva; and Bob
Connor.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
