HB 230 -- SENIOR CITIZEN PROPERTY TAX RELIEF

SPONSOR:  Portwood

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Senior Citizen Advocacy by a vote of 10 to 0.

This bill prohibits an individual from claiming both the circuit
breaker income tax credit and the homestead property tax
exemption credit.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2006, FY 2007, and
FY 2008.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill clarifies a provision
of Senate Bill 730 from last year.

Testifying for the bill was Representative Portwood.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
