HB 243 -- MEMORIAL HIGHWAY

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Transportation by a vote of 16 to 0.

This bill designates a portion of U. S. Highway 63 in Phelps
County as the "Korean War Veterans Association Memorial Highway."
The intersection of U. S. Highway 63 and the parallel 38 degrees
north latitude will be indicated as the "38th Parallel" by signs.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2006, FY 2007, and
FY 2008.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill will be a tribute to
Korean War veterans.

Testifying for the bill was Representative May.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
