HB 260 -- CONVEYANCE IN COLE COUNTY

SPONSOR:  Deeken

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Local Government by a vote of 16 to 0.

This bill authorizes the Governor to convey state property located in
County to the Cole County Regional West Fire District.

The bill contains an emergency clause.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2006, FY 2007, and
FY 2008.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill will transfer land that
is currently owned by a prison to the Cole County Regional West
Fire District since there is no fire house in western Cole
County.

Testifying for the bill was Representative Deeken.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
