HB 528 -- MOTOR FUEL TAX SPONSOR: Cunningham (145) COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Agriculture Policy by a vote of 20 to 0. This bill authorizes the ultimate vendor, delivering 100 or more gallons of gasoline to a certified farmer, to make a claim for a refund of the motor fuel tax at the time of delivery. This provision has an effective date of January 1, 2006. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2006, FY 2007, and FY 2008. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill provides consistency for producers and vendors in the motor fuel tax refund claim process for the non-road use of both diesel fuel and gasoline.
