HB 743 -- CONVEYANCE IN MADISON COUNTY SPONSOR: Kingery COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Corrections and Public Institutions by a vote of 7 to 0. This bill authorizes the Governor to convey state property located in Madison County to the United States government for forestry purposes. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2006, FY 2007, and FY 2008. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the federal government conveyed some forestry land for the expansion of Highway 67, so the state is conveying 40 acres adjoining the Mark Twain National Forest to the federal government.
