SB 141 -- EMERGENCY VEHICLE SALES SPONSOR: Nodler (Richard) COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass" by the Committee on Small Business by a vote of 8 to 0. This bill exempts dealers who sell only emergency vehicles from maintaining a bona fide place of business, including the related law enforcement certification requirements, and from meeting the minimum yearly sales requirement. FISCAL NOTE: Estimated Effect on General Revenue Fund of a Cost of $3,334 in FY 2006, an Income of $0 in FY 2007, and $0 in FY 2008. No impact on Other State Funds in FY 2006, FY 2007, and FY 2008. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that an auto dealer is currently required to be open at least 20 hours a week. The bill just exempts a couple of businesses who specialize in emergency vehicles that don't really have any need for a showroom and may sell less than six vehicles a year. Testifying for the bill was Senator Nodler. OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee. Richard Smreker, Senior Legislative AnalystCopyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
