Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 264 -- Undergraduate Student Tuition

Sponsor: Smith (14)

This bill freezes undergraduate tuition at any higher education
institution that receives any state funds at the level the
tuition was when the student enrolled for the four continuous
years afterward, beginning with the 2005-2006 school year. If a
student enrolls in a degree program that takes more than four
years to complete, the tuition freeze will be for the customary
time required to complete the program, as defined by the
institution. If a student changes majors, tuition will be frozen
at the level of tuition charged when the student first enrolled.
