Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 447 -- Annexations

Sponsor: Hobbs

Currently, when written objections are filed to a proposed
annexation, the municipality must prepare an annexation plan,
hold a public hearing and election, and file a declaratory
judgment action. This bill makes an exception to this procedure
in first classification counties when certain objections are
filed by the county commission and the county commission and
municipality resolve the objections either within 90 days of
their filing or within a mutually agreed upon time period.
