Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 464 -- High School Activity Cooperative Sponsorships

Sponsor: Smith (118)

This bill establishes conditions under which two schools may
field cooperative sports or activity teams. The approval of the
Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) is
required. Applications for sponsorship must be submitted by
December 1 for the following school year. One of the schools
will be designated to administer the program. The combined
enrollments of the two schools will form the basis for
classification; and if the schools are in different districts,
the districts must be contiguous. Isolated, noncontiguous
districts must apply for MSHSAA approval. Agreements must be for
two years, coordinated with MSHSAA cycles, and cover specific
activities.

The provisions of the bill will expire six years from the
effective date.
