HB 496 -- Health Insurance Eligibility

This bill prohibits health carriers from requiring applicants to
submit tax forms that disclose salaries, income, wages, or any
other tax information that is not relevant in determining
coverage eligibility.  Violation of these provisions will
constitute an unfair trade practice.  The Director of the
Department of Insurance will establish additional categories of
tax information that cannot be requested.
