HB 840 -- Evidence of Hazardous Materials

Currently, when hazardous material is seized at a crime scene,
the seizing officer may take a representative sample of the
material for evidence purposes and dispose of the rest of the
material as safety concerns warrant.  This bill allows law
enforcement officers to use photos or videotape of hazardous
materials being seized at the crime scene, rather than submitting
a representative sample of the material, as evidence of the
material.
