HB 908 -- Second Injury Fund

This bill suspends claims against the Second Injury Fund until
the Workers' Compensation Law is amended to make the fund
actuarially sound.

The Second Injury Fund Advisory Committee is established
consisting of 11 appointed members with knowledge of finance,
actuarial, or accounting matters; fund claims; and employment to
examine the fund's financial integrity, liabilities, funding, and
administration.  The committee will draft a report no later than
November 1, 2005, containing recommendations for legislative
changes.

Beginning January 1, 2006, and annually thereafter, the Attorney
General will report Second Injury Fund claims settlement
information to the General Assembly and the Governor.  The
initial report will contain claims information from Fiscal Year
2000 to the present.

The bill contains an emergency clause.
