HB 962 -- Family Courts

This bill changes the laws regarding family courts.  The bill:

(1)  Removes a provision which prevented a majority of circuit
judges from appointing individuals to act as commissioners in
counties having a family court;

(2)  Removes family courts from the list of circuit courts so
that circuit courts have exclusive original jurisdiction in
proceedings involving a minor;

(3)  Removes a provision which prevented a majority of circuit
judges from designating a juvenile division or divisions and the
classes of cases assigned to each in counties having a family
court; and

(4)  Removes the provisions of law under Chapter 787, RSMo,
dealing with family courts.
