AN ACT

To amend chapter 44, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to deployment of health care professionals during declared emergencies.





Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:


            Section A. Chapter 44, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 44.045, to read as follows:

            44.045. 1. Subject to approval by the state emergency management agency during an emergency declared by the governor or state legislature, any health care professional licensed, registered, or certified in this state may be deployed to provide care as necessitated by the emergency. During an emergency, deployed health care professionals shall not be liable for any civil damages for acts or omissions other than damages due to gross negligence, or willful or wanton acts or omissions in rendering such care.

            2. In a declared state of emergency, the department of health and senior services and the division of professional registration within the department of economic development may release otherwise confidential contact and licensure, registration, or certification information relating to health care professionals to state, local, and private agencies to facilitate deployment.
