AN ACT

To amend chapter 392, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to telecommunications service rates.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

            Section A. Chapter 392, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 392.231, to read as follows:

            392.231. No telecommunications company subject to the provisions of this chapter and providing telephone service in any county with a charter form of government and with more than six hundred thousand but fewer than seven hundred thousand inhabitants shall charge, collect, demand, or receive any additional compensation for basic local telecommunications service between any point in the county and any home rule city with more than four hundred thousand inhabitants and located in more than one county. As used in this section, "additional compensation" means any amount above the amount charged for basic local telecommunications service between any two points within such home rule city.
