AN ACT

To amend chapter 307, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to removable trailer hitches, with a penalty provision.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

            Section A. Chapter 307, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 307.174, to read as follows: 

            307.174. 1. No person shall operate any passenger motor vehicle upon the public streets or highways of this state with a detachable ball mount attached to a ball mount receiver when such device is not being used for towing purposes.

            2. Any person who violates the provisions of this section is guilty of a class C misdemeanor.
