AN ACT

To repeal section 540.031, RSMo, and to enact in lieu thereof one new section relating to duties of grand juries.





Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:


            Section A. Section 540.031, RSMo, is repealed and one new section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 540.031, to read as follows:

            540.031. A grand jury may make inquiry into and return indictments for all grades of crimes and shall make inquiry into all possible violations of the criminal laws as the court may direct. [The grand jury shall examine public buildings and report on their conditions.]
