Current Bill Summary

HCS/SB 735 - This act authorizes commercial parcel delivery services to send applications for review or appeal to the labor and industrial relations commission regarding decisions on claims for workers' compensation, unemployment compensation, tort victims' compensation, and crime victims' compensation. The act also makes consistent the procedures for filing such applications by providing that if the last day for filing such papers falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday, the filing is deemed timely if accomplished on the next day that is not a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday. Applications for review or appeal may also be made by electronic facsimile, as long as original copies of any required papers are mailed the same day as the facsimile is received by the commission.
