HCS HB 1153 -- ELEVATOR SAFETY BOARD

SPONSOR:  Behnen (Emery)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Professional Registration and Licensing by a vote of 16 to 0.

This substitute changes the membership of the Elevator Safety
Board.  The substitute removes one of the members representing
elevator manufacturers and adds one new member representing
elevator installers.

The substitute contains an emergency clause.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2007, FY 2008, and
FY 2009.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the elevator installer industry
needs to be represented on the board.

Testifying for the bill was Representative Emery.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
