HB 1488 -- MEMORIAL HIGHWAY

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Transportation by a vote of 12 to 0.

This bill designates the portion of Interstate 55 in St. Louis
County between Butler Hill Road and Meramec Bottom Road as the
"Officer Thomas G. Smith Jr. Memorial Highway."

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on General Revenue Fund.  Estimated Cost
on Other State Funds of $0 or $787 in FY 2007, $0 in FY 2008, and
$0 in FY 2009.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say this is a fitting tribute for someone
who has given so much to protect our citizens.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Roorda; and Thomas G.
Smith, Sr.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
