HB 1707 -- LOCAL REGISTRARS SPONSOR: Dusenberg COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Local Government by a vote of 15 to 0. This bill allows the State Registrar within the Department of Health and Senior Services to appoint a person employed by a city health agency as a local registrar. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2007, FY 2008, and FY 2009. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the City of Independence would like to be able to offer its residents the ability to obtain copies of vital records at the city's health department.
