HB 1287 -- Noncertificated School Employees

Currently, certificated employees in all school districts and
noncertificated employees in the St. Louis City school district
have due process as specified by law.  This bill requires that
all noncertificated employees be appointed and promoted pursuant
to rules adopted by the local school board.  During the
board-specified probationary period, an employee whose work is
unsatisfactory may be dismissed one month after written notice if
the employee's work does not improve as required.  After the
probationary period, permanent employees will receive the same
due process given to certificated teachers.
