HB 1293 -- Missouri Uniform Communications Act for Homeland Security Sponsor: Wildberger This bill establishes the Missouri Uniform Communications Act for Homeland Security. The bill: (1) Specifies that it is the public policy of this state to promote effective, ubiquitous, and interoperable public safety communications in real time and on demand between all personnel of all state and local agencies; (2) Establishes the Public Safety Communications Committee and specifies its membership. All public safety agencies must submit a plan to the committee for approval when requesting state or federal funds disbursed by the state for wireless communication programs. All purchases made by the Commissioner of the Office of Administration for wireless communication products for public safety must meet the standards outlined by the committee; (3) Requires the Governor to annually provide the General Assembly with a homeland security spending analysis report. This report must include a detailed listing of all funds received and spent for homeland security; and (4) Abolishes the Committee on State-operated Wireless Communication Systems created in 1998.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
