HB 1299 -- Private Investigations for Farm Commodities

Sponsor:  Shoemyer

This bill requires any private entity entering private property
to determine or verify the origin or source of a farm commodity
or enforce any trade agreement or contract associated with the
use of a genetically modified organism agricultural product to
notify the landowner and the appropriate law enforcement agency
prior to entry onto the landowner's property.

An entity in violation of the provisions of the bill will be
guilty of trespassing and subject to a fine of $10,000.
