HB 1405 -- Campaign Finance Regulations for General Assembly

This bill limits campaign contributions to candidates for the
Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President Pro Tem
of the Senate to the same level of expenditure as that allowed
for other statewide office candidates.  The Speaker and President
Pro Tem are also subject to the same electronic disclosure report
filing deadlines to the Missouri Ethics Commission as other
candidates for statewide office.  A General Assembly leadership
office committee is prohibited from making contributions to the
committee of the candidate for whom the General Assembly
leadership office committee is established.

The bill becomes effective January 1, 2007.
