HB 1417 -- Healthy Drinks for Healthy Children Act Sponsor: LeVota This bill establishes the Healthy Drinks for Healthy Children Act of 2006 which phases in limits on the beverages that can be sold at a public elementary school to fruit and vegetable-based drinks, water with no added sweetener, and various forms of milk. Middle or junior high schools are limited to the above-listed drinks with the addition of sports drinks. The sale of noncomplying drinks is permitted under conditions specified in the bill. Beginning July 1, 2007, at least half of drinks and by July 1, 2009, all drinks sold to pupils from one-half hour before school to one-half hour after school must comply with this provision.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
