Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 1702 -- Absentee Voting

Sponsor: Hoskins

This bill allows absentee voting by registered voters for any
reason. Currently, persons in federal service, interstate former
residents, and intrastate new residents can vote for presidential
and vice-presidential electors by absentee ballot even if they
are not registered in their jurisdiction of residence. The bill
repeals that authorization and eliminates the procedures for
casting absentee ballots for presidential and vice-presidential
electors without being registered in Sections 115.283 and
115.425, RSMo.
