HB 1756 -- Foreign Language Instruction in Public Elementary Schools Sponsor: Fraser This bill requires every child attending a public elementary school to receive instruction in a foreign language, subject to the availability of properly certified personnel. The bill does not apply to students getting services from special school districts, students who have disabilities that require special instruction, or students for whom English is a second language. The State Board of Education is given rule-making authority and may exempt other students by rule. The bill becomes effective July 1, 2007.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
