HB 1822 -- Missouri Uniform Interoperability Communications Act Sponsor: Bruns This bill establishes the Missouri Uniform Interoperability Communications Act and the Missouri Interoperability Communications Board to oversee the creation, administration, and maintenance of the Missouri interoperability communications network which is to provide public safety communications services and facilities for the benefit and use of public safety agencies. The board will consist of the directors, or their designees, of the departments of Public Safety, Transportation, Corrections, and Conservation; the Director of the Division of Homeland Security or his or her designee; the Adjutant General or his or her designee; and a member of the Missouri Police Chiefs Association, Missouri Sheriffs' Association, Missouri Association of Fire Chiefs, and the Missouri State Troopers Association. The board is required to establish guidelines for the lease or purchase of wireless communications products for public safety, review requests by public safety agencies for state or federal funds for wireless communications programs, examine all proposals and requests for funding of wireless communications to identify and evaluate interoperability, and establish other necessary procedures for administering these provisions. The bill also requires that all purchases of wireless communication products for public safety by the Commissioner of the Office of Administration meet the standards of the Public Safety Communications Committee for Wireless Communications.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
