HB 1883 -- Misrepresentation of Age to Purchase Alcohol Sponsor: Dixon This bill creates a civil cause of action against any person younger than 21 years of age who misrepresents his or her age to obtain alcohol. The owner of any establishment with a license to sell alcohol can sue any minor who attempts to obtain alcohol through misrepresentation of his or her age while on the owner's premises. If the owner prevails, the court must award damages in the amount of $1,000, reasonable costs, and attorney fees.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
