HB 1972 -- Transition Period for Elected Officials

This bill changes the beginning day of the transition period for
newly elected officials for the offices of Governor, Lieutenant
Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, State Auditor,
and State Treasurer from November 15 to the first day following
their election.

The Commissioner of the Office of Administration must request
separate funding to provide transition facilities.  This funding
will not be used to cover expenses incurred during the official
transition period which are paid with specific funds designated
for the transition and may be paid after the end of the
transition period.
