HB 1979 -- Child Endangerment Sponsor: Harris (23) Currently, the penalty for the crime of child endangerment in the first degree is a class C felony. This bill relating to Karra's Law increases the penalty to a term of imprisonment of not less than 15 years if an individual acts to create a substantial risk to the life, body, or health by shaking a child younger than five years of age by the arms, legs, chest, or shoulders.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
