HB 2053 -- Telecommunications Practices

This bill modifies one of the options for setting the maximum
allowable charges for exchange access and basic local
telecommunications services for incumbent local exchange
telecommunications companies.  If the change in the telephone
service component of the federal Consumer Price Index is negative
for the previous year, companies may request a waiver from the
Missouri Public Service Commission to allow the existing maximum
allowable charges to remain in place until the next annual
adjustment.  Any savings from a reduction waiver must be used for
purposes which have been approved by the commission.
