HB 2097 -- Medical Malpractice Insurance Data Collection

This bill requires the Director of the Department of Insurance to
establish risk-reporting categories for reporting base rates and
premiums charged on medical malpractice insurance by May 30,
2007.

All insurers and self-insured health care providers will furnish
the director a report containing all rates charged for medical
malpractice insurance by category.  The director will establish
reporting standards and publish an annual report including this
information along with the market rate reflecting the median of
the actual rates charged for each of the categories.

The director is authorized to issue administrative orders or take
civil action for violations of the provisions of Sections
383.100 - 383.125, RSMo.
