HCS HB 1322 -- DNA PROFILING ANALYSIS (Lipke)

COMMITTEE OF ORIGIN:  Crime Prevention and Public Safety

This substitute defines "central repository" and "forensic DNA
analysis" and allows a person determined to be actually innocent
of a crime to receive $50 for each day of post-conviction
incarceration and an automatic expungement of any records
concerning the crime for which the person was innocent.

The substitute also changes the expiration date on criminal court
surcharges from August 28, 2006, to August 28, 2013.

FISCAL NOTE:  Estimated Cost on General Revenue Fund of $0 to
Unknown in FY 2007, FY 2008, and FY 2009.  No impact on Other
State Funds in FY 2007, FY 2008, and FY 2009.
