AN ACT

To amend chapter 194, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to the transporting of dead bodies.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

            Section A. Chapter 194, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 194.112, to read as follows:

            194.112. 1. When a person dies with a disease that is contagious, infectious, or communicable, the coroner, funeral home personnel, or other person responsible for transporting the dead body shall be notified in writing by the hospital, nursing home, or other health care facility in which the person died that the person died of a disease that is contagious, infectious, or communicable.

            2. Any person who violates the provisions of this section is guilty of an infraction.
