Summary of the Committee Version of the Bill

HB 686 -- NURSING HOME ADMINISTRATORS' RULE-MAKING AUTHORITY

SPONSOR:  Smith (150)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Special
Committee on Senior Citizen Advocacy by a vote of 8 to 0.

This bill changes the laws regarding the duties and powers of the
Missouri Board of Nursing Home Administrators by expanding the
rule-making authority of nursing home administrators.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2008, FY 2009, and
FY 2010.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill revises the statutes to
make the appropriate technical changes that were left out of the
legislation passed in 2006.  The licensure requirements are not
affected by the provisions of the bill.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Smith (150);
Department of Health and Senior Services; and Nick Fry, HR
Montgomery Properties.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
