HB 740 -- CONVEYANCE IN JOHNSON COUNTY

SPONSOR:  Pearce

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Corrections and Public Institutions by a vote of 6 to 0.

This bill authorizes the Governor to convey an easement over
state property located in Johnson County to the City of
Warrensburg.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2008, FY 2009, and
FY 2010.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that there is a piece of property
adjacent to the state veterans home in Warrensburg that was
promised to the city.  A road was built, but there was no grant
of easement given.  The bill grants that easement to the city
giving them the right to use the property.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Pearce; Barbara
Carroll, City of Warrensburg; Missouri Veterans Commission; and
Johnson County Economic Development Corporation.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
