HB 1009 -- Regional Investment District Compact Sponsor: Pratt Currently, the legislatures of both Kansas and Missouri must enter into the Kansas and Missouri Regional Investment District Compact for it to be effective and binding on both states. If the State of Kansas has not authorized the compact by July 1, 2007, any Missouri county in the district will have all the powers and duties necessary to operate the district. This bill specifies that if the State of Kansas has not enacted the compact by August 28, 2007, the district will be established and will have all the necessary powers and duties needed to operate. However, the district's name will be the Missouri Regional Investment District and will consist of only the Missouri counties of Buchanan, Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte, and Ray.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
