HB 1232 -- Extracurricular Competitive Activities

This bill allows the Department of Elementary and Secondary
Education, at the discretion of the State Board of Education, to
take over the administration and oversight of the public school
extracurricular competitive activities, beginning with the
2008-2009 school year.  No public school may participate in an
association that regulates these activities unless the
association submits its rules and regulations to the Joint
Committee on Administrative Rules, which may request the
department's recommendations.
