HB 44 -- Liquor and Wine Tasting Sponsor: Smith (14) This bill allows persons licensed to sell intoxicating liquor in the original package at retail who have a special permit to allow liquor and wine tastings on the premises to charge a set fee for persons consuming multiple samples up to certain limits for beer, wine, and distilled spirits. Wineries, distillers, manufacturers, wholesalers, or brewers are allowed to provide samples for customer tasting purposes at retail licensed premises that have a special permit or a by-the- drink-for-consumption-on-the-premises-where-sold retail license. The winery, distiller, manufacturer, wholesaler, or brewer cannot give money or anything of value to the retailer for the opportunity to conduct the tasting. Tastings may be conducted off of a retail licensed premise if no sales transactions take place, but solicitations for later sales via promotional materials are allowed.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
