Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 679 -- County Land Use Regulations

Sponsor: Baker (123)

Currently, the planning and zoning powers of charter counties and
counties of the second and third classification cannot interfere
with public utility services that have been or will be authorized
by the Missouri Public Service Commission or permitted by the
county commission; and the building plan approval authority of
the county planning board in counties of the first classification
cannot interfere with a development or public improvement
authorized by the Missouri Public Service Commission or permitted
by the county commission. This bill removes the prohibition
against interference with public utility services authorized by
the Missouri Public Service Commission and allows counties to
approve public utility services and improvements.
