HB 724 -- Prosecuting Attorneys and Circuit Attorneys' Retirement Fund Sponsor: Stevenson Currently, any prosecuting attorney or circuit attorney who became a member of the Prosecuting Attorneys and Circuit Attorneys' Retirement Fund on August 28, 1989, or who was a member on August 28, 1993, receives creditable prior service for the service performed before August 28, 1989. Any attorney who became a member of the system on August 28, 1989, and was a member of the system on August 28, 1996, who was an assistant prosecuting attorney or an assistant circuit attorney prior to August 28, 1989, receives a 75% credit for the prior service for the time the individual spent 60% of his or her time fulfilling prosecutorial duties. This bill provides that any prosecuting attorney or circuit attorney becoming a member of the system will receive creditable prior service for any prior service performed as a prosecuting or circuit attorney and will receive a 75% service credit, up to four years, for service performed as an assistant prosecuting attorney or assistant circuit attorney for the time the individual spent 60% of his or her time fulfilling prosecutorial duties.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
