AN ACT

To amend chapter 162, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to school district participation in statewide activities associations.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

            Section A. Chapter 162, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 162.205, to read as follows:

            162.205. No public school shall become a member of or retain membership in any statewide activities association that:

            (1) Maintains a bylaw that prohibits a tuition-paying student of a public school from participating in an activity of the public school to which the student's tuition is paid; or

            (2) Bars a resident student who meets the compulsory attendance requirements of section 167.031, RSMo, from participation in an activity of the public school.
