AN ACT

To amend chapter 376, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to insurance contracts.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

            Section A. Chapter 376, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 376.1425, to read as follows:

            376.1425. In the event a contract between an insurer and a provider is sold or transferred, the insurer shall provide written notice to the provider of the sale or transfer of the contract. Upon notification, the provider shall in writing either:

            (1) Opt out of the provider agreement; or

            (2) Agree to the continuation of the contract after the sale or transfer.
