AN ACT

To amend chapter 162, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to unaccredited school districts.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

            Section A. Chapter 162, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 162.209, to read as follows:

            162.209. Notwithstanding any other law, whenever any public school district in this state is classified as unaccredited by the state board of education, the governor shall take over the affected school district. Upon takeover, the governor shall appoint a new school board from within the school district to conduct business relating to the operation of the school district.
