AN ACT

To amend chapter 589, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to sexual offenders at schools, with penalty provisions.




Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:


            Section A. Chapter 589, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 589.485, to read as follows:

            589.485. 1. No person who is required to register under sections 589.400 to 589.435 shall be permitted on the property of any elementary or secondary school, whether it is public or private, without the consent of the school's principal or head administrator if the victim of the crime for which the person is required to register was less than seventeen years of age at the time of the offense.

            2. No person who is required to register under sections 589.400 to 589.435 shall be permitted to attend any officially sanctioned school activity or event for an elementary or secondary school, whether it is public or private, without the consent of the school's principal or head administrator if the victim of the crime for which the person is required to register was less than seventeen years of age at the time of the offense.

            3. Any person who violates this section shall be guilty of a class A misdemeanor.
