AN ACT

To amend chapter 488, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to payment of judgments and court costs.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

            Section A. Chapter 488, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 488.5020, to read as follows:

            488.5020. When any criminal defendant is ordered to make payments, including any court costs or fees, payments by the defendant shall be made in the following order of priority:

            (1) Restitution;

            (2) Crime victim compensation fund surcharge;

            (3) Any court costs or fees to be paid directly to the court;

            (4) Other fees; and

            (5) Fines.
