AN ACT

To amend chapter 252, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to blue catfish regulations.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

            Section A. Chapter 252, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 252.340, to read as follows:

            252.340. The department of conservation shall not impose any fine or other penalty for a violation of any rule or regulation implementing length limits on blue catfish in the state if the person in violation caught the catfish for human consumption. The department shall not seize any blue catfish due to violation of length limits if the catfish is intended for human consumption. The provisions of this section shall not be construed to limit the department of conservation’s authority to impose daily, possession, and length limits of blue catfish caught during fishing tournaments.
